About

The Wallumattagal campus at Macquarie University is home to a wide range of food outlets that share the same customer base. With the number of competitors on campus, it is important for Ubar to establish its presence and boost recognition of its brand. Aside from the logo, Ubar did not have a branding system in place.

branding
A visual identity system was proposed for Ubar with the purpose of tying design collaterals together into a cohesive look and feel to promote the various events held at the bar.
A colourful palette and a modern and distinct font to appeal to the young, as well as graphic devices derived from the shape 'U' were created to uniquely identify the Ubar brand.

The U device
The U is a distinct feature in the Ubar logo and a recognisable part of the brand. The letter U is versatile and easily abstracted to generate new shapes that are still reminiscent of its original form.
Using variations of the U shape as part of the identity system will visually re-enforce the brand in a creative and subtle way.
Graphic devices
A series of graphic devices have been created from the abstract form of the letter U. 
These can be used in any of the brand colours, rotated and combined in any number of ways, to add a playful and distinctly identifiable look to the design.
